1.  Underestimating the budget.  The big items, projector, screen, speakers and receiver are usually thought about and budgeted for- what about the other items?  Surge protection to protect your equipment and to give you the best quality and noise free picture and sound.  Quality cables and interconnects to hookup all your new gear.  Mounting hardware and/or a rack for proper ventilation.  A universal remote control (see number 5 below)

What do you want on your pizza?… Bacon?

Yes, bacon is delicious on pizza!  I’m here at vaso’s kitchen, having a business lunch with the owner of kolas tv, and he’s never even heard of bacon on a pizza.  Home automation is kind of the same.  Need a tv mounted, no problem.  Want to control your lights, thermostat, and tv from one remote, no problem.  Want to do it all from your ipad? No problem.

Room for more?

That’s what 4 miles of wire looks like!  (Its only a 6 foot pickup bed) 16 screens, 20 something rooms of audio, wireless access points, touchscreens, and a handful of network and phone outlets throughout the house.

Just started a great prewire on this 4 story house in Clifton.

Control4 recently released the flagship HC800 controller.  It’s smaller- only 1U tall, it’s faster, it’s less expensive than the HC1000 (without a hard drive though) and it becomes the core of your new home automation system.
